Some politicaland military developments in the Anatolia lands that provide this opportunity to him. The Seljuks came to Anatolia especially the Byzantine politic sand the difficult situation in which they had the opportunity to obtain Philaretos‘s own dominance. Byzantium’s started to loose power in Anatolia in the second half of the XI th century with the arrival of the Seljuks to Anatolia and especially victory in Malazgirt, Byzantine power increased. The pleasure of authority created by the struggle for domination between the two sides enabled Phililaretos to move in a relaxed manner. And the fact that the Armenian population as the southern side of Anatolia increased significantly during this periodal so provided Philaretos with an important opportunity to strengthen its dominance in the region. The main reason fort his concentration of the Armenian popuation in there gion were Byzantine politic sand the Seljuks in fluxes. Byzantine Orthodoxi fication and warming policies led the Armenians to go to the Southernparts. The Seljuks in fluxes disturbed the Armenians in the east so that they preferred to migrate to the southern parts of Anatolia. In which case Philaretos contributed to achieving the majority of the population that he could authorize. On the other hand the characteristic of features of Philaretos have given him an advantage in strengthening his dominion around Marash. As a matter of fact, in an attitude that some time sagrees with the Byzantine and sometimes the Seljuks, and when it comes to its position, it doesn’t hestitate to make a move against the other Armenian in the region, it has endeavored to strengthen and maintain the dominance in the region . In our research, we will try to identify and explain the elements that we think and we allow Philaretos to establish dominion around Marash and its sorrounding.
