Abtract
Legend or saga is a expression sort of religious and sufī literature. It can be defined as a story of religious and legendary person showing supernatural properties.
Legend is prose story which is not voluminous. In this works take part various motifs like being in the clear, knowing defaulter, being different places at the same time, walking on water.
Our culture and litareture has plenty of this kind of person who has own saga or legend. Kahramanmaraş also has many persons like that.
In this study, we mentioned Ümmet (Himmet) Father who has own legend and live in Elbistan of Seljuks period and thirteen variant of legends about Ümmet (Himmet) Father.
