ABSTRACT
The Ilkhanid Empire, founded by Mongol Empire Möngke Khan’s brother Hülagu in order to expand the Empire’s border onto West, has attacked and invaded the region known as Middle East in these days in a very short time. The geographies where the Mongol invasion happened too fierce are Iran, Iraq, Syria and of course Anatolia lands. At all the settlement areas from the Eastern Anatolia to middle parts the troubles of Mongol invasion have been felt. Maraş and its around, which was one of the politically, militarily and economically important settlement areas of Turkish Seljuk State, has become a beaten track during the military expeditions of Ilkhanid Empire to the Middle East. In our statement, we will lay down the political, military and demographic effects of Ilkhanid Empire between the years of 1243-1281 at Maraş and its around region particularly referring to the contemporary sources.
